About the role
We are looking for an IVVQ Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to the definition and execution of verification and validation activities for complex, software-centric systems, including test specification, test automation, integration, and system validation.
You will work closely with system engineering, development, and integration teams across Romania and France in an international project environment.
We are particularly interested in candidates coming from aviation and other non-automotive industries involving complex, real-time, mission-critical, or safety-critical systems.
This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week on-site at the client’s office in Bucharest.
Our client
Our client is a global leader in airspace management, delivering innovative solutions that make aviation safer, smarter, and more sustainable. Their technologies support air navigation service providers and airports in managing increasing air traffic safely and efficiently.
Project
The project focuses on advanced Air Traffic Control (ATC) and airspace security solutions for both commercial and defense aviation, as well as digital solutions supporting Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) and Digital Aviation.
It is a large-scale, software-centric program delivered by distributed teams across France, Portugal, the UK, Romania, and Australia. The role is based in Romania and includes international travel for onboarding and ongoing collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Analyze technical requirements and define test specifications and test cases
- Design, develop, automate, and execute manual and automated test cases in line with the agreed plan
- Contribute to the definition of the verification and validation strategy
- Execute IVV activities in accordance with the project baseline and applicable engineering processes
- Contribute to the maintenance of product documentation, including requirements, specifications, and interface documents
- Participate in project meetings and interface with key stakeholders as needed
- Maintain IVV schedules and contribute to risk and opportunity management
- Ensure compliance with client engineering processes, including Chorus
- Maintain quality standards in line with the Project Management and Engineering Plans
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of onboarding materials for new IVV engineers in Romania, in collaboration with the System Engineering Discipline Manager
Requirements
- Engineering degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years of experience in Verification, Validation, Integration, or Testing roles on complex, software-centric, real-time systems
- Experience in the Air Traffic Management (ATM) domain is an advantage, but not mandatory
- Candidates from aviation, aerospace, defense, rail, industrial systems, or other non-automotive industries are encouraged to apply
- Knowledge of relevant ATM standards and frameworks, such as ICAO and Eurocontrol, is a plus
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders across international and multicultural environments
- Experience with backlog prioritization, planning, and coordination activities
Knowledge & skills
- Experience managing technical requirements using tools such as DOORS, Jira, or Polarion
- Strong understanding of verification, validation, integration, and testing techniques
- Experience with test automation
- ISTQB certification is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and integrated teams
- Strong interpersonal skills, proactive mindset, and sound judgement
- Excellent written and spoken English
